 Choosing aperture and shutter speed (M manual mode)
In mode M, you choose both the aperture and the shutter speed. Set the mode dial to M, 
and set the shutter speed with the control ring, and the aperture value with the sub dial.
•  The shutter speed can be set to 1/2000 – 30 sec.
•  You can change the functions assigned to the control ring and the sub dial.

 Cautions
•  Exposure compensation is not available in M mode.
 
 Noise in images
While shooting at slow shutter speeds, noise may appear on-screen. These phenomena 
are caused when current is generated in those sections of the image pickup device that 
are not normally exposed to light, resulting in a rise in temperature in the image pickup 
device or image pickup device drive circuit. This can also occur when shooting with a high 
ISO setting in a high-temperature environment. To reduce this noise, the camera activates 
the noise reduction function.
