Preparing Your Network

Once you’ve set up your computers to work with the firewall, you must reset the network for the 
devices to be able to communicate correctly. Restart any computer that is connected to the firewall.

1.

Turn off the modem, router, and PCs.

2.

Turn on the modem. 

3.

Wait until the indicator lights on the modem show that it is synchronized with the broadband 
network.

4.

Turn on the router and wait until the TEST LED turns off.

5.

Restart the PCs.

After configuring all of your computers for TCP/IP networking and restarting them, and 
connecting them to the local network of your FVS318 VPN Firewall, you are ready to access and 
configure the firewall.
