Shipping Your Printer
If the printhead is operational
Follow these instructions if the printer is in working order. You should also
use these instructions for shipping a damaged printer for servicing, if the
carriage containing the printhead still returns to the far right position when you
turn off the printer using the POWER button. If the carriage containing the
printhead does not return to the far right position when you turn off the
printer, follow the instructions under the topic, ÒIf the printhead is not
operationalÓ on page C-4.

Remove the interface cables and make sure the printer is turned
on.

Open the cover and remove all ink cartridges (see ÒRemoving a used ink cartridgeÓ on page 4-3). To avoid spilling ink, place the
ink cartridges on a sheet of clean paper with the numbered (1 to 4)

Close the top cover and perform the ink jet cleaning procedure to
