announces the end-of-sale and end-of-life dates for the Cisco
®
ONS 15600 Series OC-48/STM-16 Short-Reach Modules. The
last day to order the affected product is November 28, 2006. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the
Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until November 27, 2011. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the
affected product. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.
Existing customers are not required to migrate to the Cisco ONS 15600 Series Any Service Any Port (ASAP) modules, which include part
numbers 15600-ASAP-CC, 15600-ASAP-4PIO, and ONS-SE-2G-S1. Customers requiring OC-48/STM-16 short-haul or short-reach optics are
encouraged to migrate to Cisco ONS 15600 Release 5.x (SONET) or 8.x (SDH) or later and replace with the Cisco ONS 15600 Series ASAP
modules. Information about the replacement products can be found at:
