Gathering Installation Values
Gather and record the information below to prepare for your installation of the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Release 8.6
integration for IBM Lotus Notes.
Creating an IBM Lotus Notes Gateway Account
This task describes how to create an account for the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Release 8.6 gateway on the IBM Lotus Domino
Server. You must create this account so that the gateway can access the IBM Lotus Notes application and send back-end
notifications.
Tip
If you have more than one Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Application Server, each with its own installation of the
Release 8.6 integration for IBM Lotus Notes, create an IBM Lotus Notes gateway account for each installation with a
unique identifying name, such as MP-Boston or MP-Atlanta.
Restrictions
If you have created an IBM Lotus Domino server cluster, the MeetingPlace Server Agent (MPSA) database should be created
on the Domino server that hosts the IBM Lotus Notes account used for the MeetingPlace integration. After that, MPSA has
to be replicated to all Domino servers in the cluster.
Front-end notifications will go through the respective Domino server directly to MeetingPlace Web server. However, all
back-end notifications will be sent through only one Domino server, the one that holds the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace
Gateway user mailbox (the Domino that is specified in the MeetingPlace integration).
On the IBM Lotus Domino side, a user requires only regular user permissions for the IBM Lotus Notes account for the IBM
Lotus Notes with Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Gateway.
Procedure
Step 1
Sign in to the IBM Domino Administrator.
Description
Your Value
The location of the notes.ini file for your IBM Lotus Notes account. This file is
usually in C:\Lotus\Notes or C:\Program Files\Lotus\Notes.
Note
You must already have run the IBM Lotus Notes client (that is, opened the
client, connected to the IBM Lotus Domino Server, and closed the client) to
create the notes.ini file.
Note
The installation program only prompts you for the location of this file if it
cannot find it or if it detects more than one .ini file on your system.
