If you have configured your system with Directory Services replication, you might 
need to shut down replication and restart it. Some reasons to do this are listed below.

You move one of the Directory Services instances to another server.

■

One of the Directory Services servers is shut down for an extended period 
(two days or more), which causes the remaining Directory Services server to 
experience high resource usage. The longer the server is down, the higher 
the resource usage on the remaining server.

In these and other situations that require stopping one or both Directory Services 
servers, replication must be shut down. 

Follow this procedure on each Directory Services server. If one server is already 
down, restart it and then perform this procedure.

1. Open a command window and change folders to the following location:

C:\Program Files\Cisco\Desktop\bin

This is the default location.

2. At the prompt, type

 

where <IP address> is the IP address of this server.

Directory Services replication is shut down.

1. On the secondary Directory Services server, start My Computer or Windows 

Explorer and navigate to the following location:

C:\Program Files\Cisco\Desktop\bin

This is the default location.

2. Double-click PostInstall.exe to start the CAD Configuration Setup utility.
