Introduction
This document describes the Cisco 7304 Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) port adapter carrier
card (7300-CC-PA=), hereafter referred to as the 7300-CC-PA, which is an option available for use with
Cisco 7304 routers. The 7300-CC-PA makes it possible to use Cisco 7200 series and Cisco 7500 series
PCI port adapters on the Cisco 7304 router.

The Cisco 7304 router hosts centralized processing on a network services engine (NSE) or network
processing engine (NPE). The 7300-CC-PA acts as a pass-through device so that the NSE or NPE
processes all packets from a PCI port adapter installed on a Cisco 7304 router.
