The Cisco
®
ONS 15310-MA Multiservice Provisioning Platform (MSPP) is a carrier-
class MSPP that efficiently switches Ethernet and time-division multiplexing (TDM)
traffic for use in metropolitan and regional optical networks. Fiber-to-the-building
(FTTB) applications represent an increasingly important opportunity for metropolitan
service providers to extend their networks, reach new customers, and profitably grow
their businesses. The Cisco ONS 15310-MA has enabled service providers to
address the FTTB market because it delivers supercharged SONET/SDH, integrated
optical networking, unprecedented multi-services on demand, and radical economic
benefits. However, FTTB applications requires providers to deploy equipment to sites
that may be unsecured, lacking standard equipment racks, without DC power
sources, and/or controlled by outside parties. The Cisco ONS 15310-MA Wall Mount
Enclosure (WME) provides a secure environment for the Cisco ONS 15310-MA
network equipment, power system, and VRLA batteries (battery back-up) in locations
powered by 120VAC with space limitations.
