Introduction
This document describes how SenderBase can be used.
How do I use SenderBase?
You can use SenderBase in a number of ways.
At the SenderBase web site, www.senderbase.org, you can enter IP addresses and network ranges to
research email senders, IP addresses, and sources of suspected spam as well as the IP addresses of
your own mail servers.
•
Using DNS−based queries, the Email Security Appliance (ESA)  can look up SenderBase scores for
email senders and use those results to throttle, block, or "trust" senders.
•
Message filters running on the ESA can use the SenderBase score in any way allowed by the filtering
language. For example, SenderBase scores can be tagged into message subjects or body headers, or
they can be factored into filter actions with other information.
