announces the end-of-sale and end-of life dates for the Cisco 7200, 7500, and 7600 PA-A3
Series Enhanced ATM Port Adapters. The last day to order the affected product(s) is December 31,
2006. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco
Technical Assistance Center (TAC) as shown in Table 1 of the EoL bulletin. Table 1 describes the
end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the affected product(s). Table 2 lists the product
part numbers affected by this announcement. For customers with active and paid service and
support contracts, support will be available until the termination date of the contract, even if this
date exceeds the Last Date of Support shown in Table 1.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to the Cisco PA-A6 Series Enhanced ATM Port Adapter for
the Cisco 7200 Series, 7301, 7400 Series, 7500 Series, and 7600 Series routers, which supports
advanced ATM hardware features such as per-virtual-circuit and pervirtual-path traffic shaping, as
well as all ATM service classes such as real-time variable bit rate (VBR-rt), constant bit rate (CBR),
non-real-time variable bit rate (VBR-nrt), available bit rate (ABR), and unspecified bit rate (UBR).
The Cisco replacement enhanced ATM port adapter also supports 8191 ATM virtual circuits, or
twice as many as the end-of-life enhanced ATM port adapter.
