Cisco Cisco Email Security Appliance X1070 Troubleshooting Guide

Page of 1
After upgrading to a new version of AsyncOS you receive an alert similar to the following:
sophos antivirus − The Anti−Virus database on this
system is expired. Although the system will continue
to scan for existing viruses, new virus updates will
no longer be available. Please upgrade to the latest
AsyncOSversion immediately. Contact Cisco TAC if you
have any questions.
This error indicates that the Anti−Virus engine is not current for the upgraded version of AsyncOS at the time
of system startup.  However, the Cisco Email Security Appliance (ESA) will check for Anti−Virus engine
updates after coming online and will update to the current version.
If you would like to verify that the engine update was successful, simply issue the antivirusstatus or avstatus
command from the command line interface (CLI) to view the current Anti−Virus engine version.
esa.example.com> avstatus
    SAV Engine Version        3.2.07.351.0_5.01
    IDE Serial                2014080505
    Last Engine Update        28 Jul 2014 22:45 (GMT +00:00)
    Last IDE Update           05 Aug 2014 19:08 (GMT +00:00)
After validating that the appliance has reached out and upgraded with the avstatus command, you may safely
ignore this alert.
