Cisco MDS 9000 Family Release Notes for Storage Services Interface Image Release 4.2(3i)
OL-20651-05
  Related Documentation
Symptom: Following an upgrade from Cisco MDS NX-OS Release 4.1(3a) with SSI Release
4.1(3m) to NX-OS Release 4.2(3a) with SSI Release 4.2(3i), the SNMP process may fail.
Workaround: None.
CSCtg23573
Symptom: A critical error such as a DPP failure on a service module running SANTap may result
in a module or switch reload. The reload may take an extra 10 minutes on a MSM-18/4 module or a
MDS 9222i supervisor module that is running SANTap.
Conditions: This symptom may be seen only when SANTap is running on the MSM-18/4 module
or on a MDS 9222i supervisor module.
Workaround: None. The delay in the module or switch reload does not have any side effects.
CSCtg34105
Symptom: If you enter the vsan delete command before all SANTap objects are cleared, some
SANTap objects may go into an error state due to iSAPI race condition issues.
Workaround: Clean up all SANTap objects before you enter the vsan delete command.
Resolved Caveats
CSCsz61090
Symptom: When running under a high load, the SANTap process on the SSM may fail upon a
module reload that follows an upgrade or downgrade.
Conditions: This symptom may be seen immediately after the module boots up and before the
RecoverPoint appliance gets a chance to communicate with SANTap, and the hosts have a lot of IO
traffic.
Workaround: This issue is resolved.
CSCtc00928
Symptom: After a FIT Create failure, the SANTap DVT goes into bad state and the VI creation fails.
Conditions: This symptom may be seen after a switch reload. Any DVT can get locked and go into
a suspended state. Messages like the following may be displayed:
%ISAPI-SLOT1-2-MSM_CRIT: Error : VI create failed.
Workaround: This issue is resolved.
