Cisco Cisco Prime Infrastructure 3.0 Troubleshooting Guide

cluster resources to reserve.
If you have spare hosts available in the cluster that no other application needs: Reconfigure
the Prime Infrastructure VM to use the third vSphere option,  Specify Failover hosts. Note
that the vSphere DRS will not use these spare hosts.
2.
Use vSphere to disable the Prime Infrastructure VM's vSphere HA > Virtual Machine
Options
checkbox. If you do this, the Prime Infrastructure VM's resource reservation will not
be counted towards the admission control calculation. But, in case of host failure where PI
VM resides, PI VM will not move to other host and will remain not the failed host. PI VM can
only move. [Cary: I'm sorry, I couldn't rewrite this very much at all, since I don't understand it.
Are you saying the VM will only move to the new host and won't failback to the original host
once the host failure is fixed? Sorry, not getting this one at all; it sort of looks like you're just
turning off admission control.]
3.
Leave PI VM enabled in HA but disable "non-essential" VMs in the cluster to exclude their
required resources to be calculated in admission control calculation (unfair though, to other
VMs ).
