These release notes provide important information for the Release 1.2.0 firmware that ships with the 
Cisco Video Surveillance Standalone Encoder Series.

This document includes the following sections:
Introduction 
The Cisco Video Surveillance Standalone Encoders can be used to convert analog video sources into 
digital formats so they can be integrated into a networked IP-based video surveillance system. The 
devices can be used in a stacked configuration, or can be rack mounted. A power supply is included with 
each device.
The Release 1.2.0 firmware includes features that extend the functionality of the following Cisco Video 
Surveillance Standalone Encoder models:
CIVS-SENC-4P (4-port encoder)
CIVS-SENC-8P (8-port encoder)
