Cisco Unified CVP VoiceXML Components in Detail
Some components of VXML Server require detailed explanations on how to use them properly,
especially when their functionality requires or is extended by programming. While it is certainly
possible to create a voice application entirely dependent on fixed data, most dynamic applications
will require some programming work.
It is important for the non-developer user to be aware of these components and the functions
they serve. The application designer will need to understand in what situations various
components are needed so that a comprehensive specification can be given to a developer
responsible for building these components.
This chapter describes these components in more detail, explaining typical situations where
they would be used. It also describes the Unified CVP concepts utilized in order to develop and
use the components. The
 (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/custcosw/ps1006/
products_programming_reference_guides_list.html) describes the components that require
programming from the developer’s standpoint, explaining the process of constructing and
deploying them. One can think of the Programming Guide for Cisco Unified CVP VXML Server
and Cisco Unified Call Studio as a comprehensive description of what this chapter introduces.
