FLEXIBILITY
Allied Telesyn’s AT-2450FTX PCI adapter offers a flexible
network access solution in environments where 10Mbps
fiber co-exists with 10/100Mbps copper cabling. This is
a common occurrence in networks that deploy fiber to
increase certain segment lengths or to protect data
integrity in high emissions areas such as manufacturing.
By having both 10Mbps fiber and 10/100Mbps copper
connectors on a single card, network administrators
need only open a PC case once and install the AT-
2450FTX card. The PC may then be deployed and re-
deployed quickly and cost-effectively, regardless of the
cabling connection.
STANDARD & LOW-PROFILE FORMATS
The AT-2450FTX adapter is available in both traditional
and new low-profile PCI formats. The new low-profile
format uses a smaller 2.5" access slot, rather than the tra-
ditional 4.2" slot. Low-profile designs are being adopted
by all the major PC manufacturers in order to offer small-
er desktop systems with expansion capabilities equivalent
to, or better than, previous-generation systems.
PERFORMANCE
Allied Telesyn PCI bus adapter cards are designed to get
the maximum performance from your PC. By off-loading
almost all of the Fast Ethernet networking functions to
the adapter card, the CPU in a computer is free to run
applications faster. The card also operates in both full and
half-duplex modes, allowing the user to double the per-
formance of the network.
STANDARDS BASED
The AT-2450FTX network adapter card supports
Microsoft's latest standards, including ACPI, OnNow
power management and DMI network management
functions. AT-Setup, Allied Telesyn’s user-friendly instal-
lation utility, simplifies installation under Windows 98,
ME, 2000 and XP.
