Cisco Cisco IOS Software Releases 12.2 B User Guide

This document describes the Cisco Packet Data Serving Node (PDSN) software for use on the Cisco 
7200 Series router, and the Cisco Multi-processor WAN Application Module (MWAM) that resides in 
the Cisco Catalyst 6500 Switch. It includes information on the features and functions of the product, 
supported platforms, related documents, and configuration tasks.

This document includes the following sections:

A PDSN provides access to the Internet, intranets, and Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) servers for 
mobile stations using a Code Division Multiple Access 2000 (CDMA2000) Radio Access Network 
(RAN). The Cisco PDSN is a Cisco IOS software feature that runs on Cisco 7200 routers, and on MWAM
