Introduction
This document describes how to manually install the signed configuration file for your Outlook
Email Security Plug-in into Microsoft Outlook.
Installation Instructions
During creation of the Business Class Email (BCE) configuration from the Cisco Registered
Envelope Service (CRES), you are presented the option to distribute the signed configuration to a
bulk list. There are instances where you only need to provide the signed configuration to one user.
You can do this with a manual install of the signed configuration.
In order to start, you first need to have your signed BCE XML configuration file as created through
the Admin portal of your CRES account and also have already installed the Outlook Email Security
Plug-in. This is covered in the Outlook
Note: In order to download the latest Outlook Email Security Plug-in, visit the
product page and click Download Software.
Note
Complete these steps in order to manually install your BCE configuration :
Close Outlook.
1.
Open Windows Explorer and navigate to this path:
C:\ProgramData\Cisco\Cisco IronPort Email Security Plug-In\<username>\
 The <username> is
your unique Windows user account name.
2.
Rename the existing file config_1.xml to config_1.xml.orig.
3.
Copy and paste your signed BCE XML configuration file and rename the file to
config_1.xml.
4.
Restart Outlook.
5.
The configuration file loads now and you have a functioning Outlook Email Security Plug-in that
behaves in accordance with the options as defined in your BCE_Config.xml.
