Share Licenses Across Multiple ESAs
Introduction
This article describes how to successfully share a license across multiple Cisco Email Security Appliances
(ESAs).
Share Licenses Across Multiple ESAs
With a purchased license product activation key (PAK), it is possible to share the license across multiple
ESAs.
From the Product License Registration portal, complete these steps:
From the Get Other Licenses drop−down list, choose Email and Web Security Appliance... and
choose Get Activation Codes.
1.
For Product, choose Iron Port Product − SW Bundles.
2.
In the Source Serial Number / Virtual Device Identifier field, enter the source serial number.
Tip: You only need to enter the end of the complete serial number. For example, if the complete serial
number is 888869E737F5−33NPP11, enter 33NPP11.
3.
In the Target Serial Number / Virtual Device Identifier field, enter the target serial number.
Tip: You only need to enter the end of the complete serial number. For example, if the complete serial
number is 999969E748G65−44MQQ22, enter 44MQQ22.
4.
In the Send to field, enter a valid email address.
5.
Click Request Code.
6.
There are a few steps after this, but they should be self−explanatory. After successful completion, an email is
sent to the email address entered. Within the email there are hyperlinks for access and validation. It usually
takes about one hour until the customer receives the license registration email.
This is an example of the email that will be received:
