Enables or disables alarming options for the SPIO card or the SSC internal alarms and the central-office external alarms. 
To verify the state of the alarms, refer to the 

 command.

Exec > Global Configuration 

 

Entering the above command sequence results in the following prompt: 

[local]host_name(config)# 

 

[ no ] alarm  { audible | central-office } 

 

Disables the option specified. 

 

Enables the internal audible alarm on ASR 5000 SPIO cards or ASR 5500 SSCs. 

 

Enables the central office (external relay) alarms. 

Use this command to enable or disable audiable and external realy alarms on ASR 5000 SPIO cards or ASR 
5500 SSCs. 

 

The following commands enable the audible alarms:
