How to Order Cisco Prime Network Registrar 

To place an order, visit the Cisco Ordering Homepage. See Tables 3-5 for a list of Cisco Prime Network Registrar 

product numbers and upgrade product numbers. To download software, visit the Cisco Software Center. 

A new Cisco Prime Network Registrar customer needs to order a base license, which covers 1000 IP leases and 

resource records, and an additional license or licenses for the number of IP leases/RRs beyond 1000. These 

product numbers are in Table 3. 

A customer has a single site and requires DNS and DHCP services for 10,000 IP clients in their network. To meet 

this requirement, the customer needs a base configuration plus support for 10,000 IP nodes for both DNS and 
DHCP. This will require a base license, an “add-on license” for the number of clients, and a caching server in order 

to perform recursive resolution. 

The bill of materials (BOM) for this order consists of the Base license, the 10,000 add-on license, and the caching 

DNS server.

A few months later, the same customer wants to expand the network to 80,000 IP nodes. Since the customer has 

already purchased the licenses for the Base and 10,000 IP nodes, the customer only needs to buy licenses for an 

additional 70,000 IP nodes.
