A Manual switch will move traffic from the active to the standby card only if network conditions permit
it. If conditions change during the switch, CTC will attempt to place traffic back on the original active
card.

In node view (single-shelf mode) or shelf view (multishelf mode), click the Maintenance > Protection tabs.

In the Protection Groups list, click the Y-cable or splitter protection group where you want to apply the Manual protection
switch.

In the Selected Group area, click the active card or port .

In the Switch Commands drop-down list, click Manual.

In the Confirm Manual Operation dialog box, click Yes.
