Preface
This guide will get you quickly up and running with Prime Optical 9.6.3.
Assumptions and Limitations of This Guide
If your Prime Optical deployment differs from what is described in these assumptions, see the 
or contact your Cisco account representative for assistance with planning and installing Prime Optical.
The guide assumes the following:
This is a new Prime Optical installation, not an upgrade from a previous version.
The Prime Optical server and database will be installed on one workstation.
The Prime Optical embedded database (Oracle 11g 11.2.0.1.0), not an external database, will be used.
You are familiar with the following products and topics:
Basic internetworking terminology and concepts
Network topology and protocols
Microsoft Windows 7 and Windows XP
Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration
UNIX environment
