Functional Overview of Cisco EPN Manager 1.1
Cisco Evolved Programmable Network Manager (Cisco EPN Manager) 1.1 is an EMS/NMS solution
that provides simplified, converged, multilayer management of carrier-grade networks. It currently
manages Carrier Ethernet and optical transport networks, with expansion into other technologies
planned for future releases.
Cisco EPN Manager offers end-to-end device management, network provisioning, and network
assurance. It is a flexible, easy-to-deploy solution with a common inventory/data model and visually
appealing user interface that provides a single product experience across management functions.
Cisco EPN Manager 1.1 provides the following high-level features and functionalities:
Device Management—Device/resource discovery, device grouping, basic device health monitoring,
image and configuration management, EMS-level assurance.
Service Discovery and Provisioning—Discovery of Ethernet Virtual Connections (VCs) and Optical
circuits, service intent/network reconciliation, ability to create, provision, modify and delete
circuits/VCs. Simple provisioning wizard with point and click functionality (i.e., click on a device
in a topology map to select it as an endpoint).
Network Assurance—Fault and performance per circuit/VC, monitoring policies and reporting
functionality, multilayer circuit trace.
Network Visualization—Topology map for visualization of devices and circuits/VCs.
Overview of Functionality Added in Content Pack 1 (Version 1.1.1)
The following list describes the functionality and enhancements that are provided in Content Pack 1
