What Is the Value of Cisco Prime Central?
Cisco Prime™ Central is a comprehensive management solution for today’s complex
multidomain networks. It provides a centralized interface to all components of the
suite. The tight integration between domain
managers helps operators to seamlessly and efficiently execute lifecycle tasks —
including design, fulfillment, assurance, and analysis. This comprehensive approach
drastically accelerates time to market of services, increases operational efficiencies,
and lowers costs while providing high quality of service (QoS) (Figure 1).
What Problems Does It Help Solve?
Today’s disjointed network management point solutions only provide pockets of control.
This contributes to operational inefficiencies, which in turn can delay the launch of
revenue‑generating services, adversely affect QoS, and increase costs. To remain
competitive, service providers need a management system that rapidly introduces new
services to market while reducing operating expenses (OpEx) and capital expenditures
(CapEx). Cisco Prime Central alleviates these challenges by enabling end‑to‑end
management of the entire network — from access, all the way to the data center.
