SAP Runtime Users Overview
Many operating systems and application activities require a user security context for proper execution.
The Runtime Users feature is used to create a runtime user record to store the information about the user
security context. You assign runtime users to a process or activities within a process to specify the proper
security context to be used to execute the process or activity.
  •
SAP User—When creating an SAP target that uses both an ABAP and Java connection, the SAP
User runtime user holds the credentials to connect to SAP ABAP application servers and SAP
systems.
  •
Runtime User—When creating an SAP target that uses only a Java connection, the Runtime User
account holds the credentials to connect to the Java application server.
Use the Definitions—Runtime Users view to display the credentials of the runtime users and to specify
new runtime user credentials, update the credentials of users, or delete users.
