Inserting Variable References
The Reference
tool to the right of a text field indicates that the field can be populated by referencing
a defined variable or the property of an activity in the process. Use the Insert Variable Reference dialog
box to choose a defined variable or object property to populate a field.

Only variables valid for the selected field can be selected in this dialog box. The OK button does not

To insert a variable reference:

To the right of a field on a property page, click the Reference
tool.

Expand the appropriate top level items to locate the appropriate variable.
