Authoring Target Types
Target types provide a way to define a service or other IT element that is not represented by any target
type provided by an adapter. All new targets are created based upon a target type.

Target types define inheritance, properties, and relationships. Similar to other aspects of automation
configuration, target types can be placed in an automation pack that is version controlled, enabling the
partner community to define new types of services or augment those delivered by others.
