Full-Automation Mode 
Full-automation mode is implemented through a Cisco or third-party orchestrator. An orchestrator allows the 
network operator to access, provision, and automate computing, storage, and network resources. Cisco Unified 
Fabric supports any northbound system using REST API. It currently integrates closely with the following three 
orchestration applications:

Cisco UCS Director Release 4.1.0.3 or later 
 
OpenStack
● 
VMware vCloud Director

 Based on open source software Juno release with Cisco Dynamic Fabric Automation (DFA) plug-in developed at Cisco. 
OpenStack for Cisco DFA software is currently packaged with Cisco OpenStack Installer. More details: 
VMware vCloud Director uses Advanced Message Queuing Protocol (AMQP) instead of the REST API. The adaptor that listens 
to the AMQP notifications and calls REST API’s to populate the  LDAP database is packaged with Cisco Prime DCNM.
