Returning CableCARD or M-Card Modules from
Service
When CableCARD or M-Card modules are taken out of service, you must unbind
the CableCARD or M-Card/host copy protection and remove the conditional access
in order to disable the services on the CableCARD or M-Card modules. These
services may be re-activated when the CableCARD or M-Card module is returned to
service. You can remove the copy protection and the conditional access using the
billing system or the DNCS as described in the following procedures.
Unbind Copy Protection for CableCARD or M-Card Module and Host
1 From the CableCARD Data Summary window, click the corresponding circle in
the Select column to choose the CableCARD or M-Card module and host device
that you want to unbind.
2 Click Modify Selected CableCARD from the left side of the window. The
Modify CableCARD window opens.
3 Refer to the online help for specific steps to modify the CableCARD or M-Card
module in the DNCS regarding the Host ID or the unbind host status of the
CableCARD or M-Card module.
4 If you are finished, click Exit All CableCARD Screens to close the Modify
CableCARD window.
