Cisco GainMaker Optoelectronic Node 1GHz with 65 86 MHz Split Technical References

We is advising customers of the potential for signal response variations when using 

plug-in surge protector, part number 467351, in GainMaker™ System Amplifiers. 

We have determined that there is a possibility the RF signal response can be 

adversely affected when a plug-in surge protector, part number 467351, is installed 

in the GainMaker System Amplifier.  It appears that in some cases the surge 

protector could cause an RF response variation from 0.1 dB up to a maximum of 

approximately 1.0 dB.  The variation appears as a dip in the frequency response, and 

may appear somewhere between the frequency range of 820 MHz to 870 MHz. 

We have changed the design of the surge protector for the GainMaker System 

Amplifier.  The new part number is 715973.  We will accept an In Warranty 

Exchange (IWE) for the surge protector, part number 467351.  If you have any of 

these units and wish to exchange them, please contact your Customer Service 

Coordinator at 1-800-722-2009 to arrange for an IWE.
