Description
The IPG should include each service that you created in the IPG Service List on the
DNCS. This ensures that the DBDS correctly matches each service in the IPG list with
the program descriptions from IPG providers. The IPG Service List links the
program descriptions from IPG providers with each service that you create.
Collecting the IPG Data
In order to provide IPG data, you must set up IPG collectors and IPG servers. The
IPG collectors receive IPG data through the data provider’s File Transfer Protocol
(FTP) Web site. This data is stored in a provider-neutral format in the Application
Server database.

IPG Data Required
Description

subscriber. Cisco supports three formats: TV Data, On TV,
and CISCO COMP (Cisco Compatible) formats
Host Name
Specifies the FTP site from which to retrieve the data. The
host name can be a standard Web name, such as
ftp.tvdata.com if the Application Server uses Domain
Name Service (DNS), or a raw IP address such as
204.97.140.250
User Name
Specifies your user name. The IPG data provider will give
you this name.
Password
Specifies your password. The IPG data provider will give
you this password
Pickup Directory or
Data file location
Specifies the directory from which to retrieve data files. The
IPG data provider will give you this directory.
File Template
Specifies the naming convention of the file to be retrieved
Collection Time
Specifies the time the IPG collector will collect new data
from the data provider
