Restart System Processes 
Important:  Note these important points: 
 
Do not overlook this procedure. This procedure restarts system processes. You 
must restart the system processes at this time. If you fail to restart the system 
processes, you will delay completion of the upgrade. 
 
Be certain that you are dncs user. Do not start the processes as root user. 
 
Be certain to start the DNCS, Application Server, and RNCS processes as 
applicable. 
 
The Administrative Console has been replaced with a new Digital Network 
Control System web interface using the FireFox browser. 
 
Restarting the DNCS 
1  Did you create the ciscousr user account or any other user account? 
 
If yes, skip to step 4. 
 
If no, go to Create User Accounts on the Upgraded Servers (on page 69). After 
creating at least one Administrator account, continue with step 2 of this 
procedure. 
2  Log on to the DNCS as one of the Administrative User accounts that you created 
in Create User Accounts on the Upgraded Servers (on page 69). 
3  Type the following command and press Enter to change to the DNCS role. 
sux - dncs
 
Note:  Type the dncs user password when prompted. 
4  From a dncs xterm window, type the following command and press Enter
dncsStart
