9 From an xterm window on the Application Server, type appKill and then press
Enter. The initd process on the Application Server stops.
10 From an xterm window on the DNCS, type dncsKill and then press Enter. The
initd process on the DNCS stops.
11 Now that you have confirmed that there are no active database sessions on the
DNCS, go to Back Up the appdb Database (on page 21).
