Implemented Change Requests
This section provides a description of the CRs implemented in QAM software
version 2.5.3 for issues found in QAM software version 2.5.1 and earlier.
CR 68385: QAMs Now Respond to Network Communication
Previously, sudden bursts of network traffic would cause QAM modulators to stop
responding to network communications and the SNMP monitor could not ping the
QAMs. A reboot of the QAM was required to resolve this condition. Now, the QAM
boot code has been updated to remedy this issue. CR 68385 corrects this issue.
CR 69051: A PSI Update Condition That Caused QAMs to Become Unresponsive Has Been
Corrected
Previously, QAM modulators with encrypted sessions would become unresponsive
and this would prevent system operators from creating and/or deleting sessions.
The probability of this issue occurring increases for QAMs with low session counts,
which means it is more likely to occur when carrying HD services. A reboot of the
QAM was required to resolve this condition. CR 69051 corrects this issue.
CR 69309: A Condition That Allowed Encrypted Content to be Broadcast in the Clear Has Been
Corrected
Previously, a duplicate insertion ID condition existed in the QAM modulator
software that could enable encrypted content to be viewable from a QAM-ready
digital TV. A reboot of the QAM was required to resolve this condition. CR 69309
corrects this issue.
