Cisco Tidal Enterprise Scheduler 6.2.1 Quick Start Guide

Chapter 10      Versions and Patching
Applying a Patch for Fault Monitor
Note
You can follow the steps in this section if none of the patch bug fixes in the versions after the one you’re
running relate to fault tolerance. So be sure to review the patch README.txt file. If there are fixes for
fault tolerance in more recent versions than what you have, you need to shut everything down before
starting the patch process.
To apply a patch when using Fault Monitor:
Step 1
Stop the Backup Master.
Step 2
Apply the hot fix to the Backup Master.
Step 3
Failover to the Backup Master, and then make sure TES is running smoothly (if not, then no need to go
any further).
Step 4
Stop Primary Master.
Step 5
Apply the hot fix to the Primary Master.
Step 6
Failback to the Primary Master, and then make sure TES is running smoothly.
Step 7
Turn off Fault Tolerance, which will result  in Primary Master running as a standalone Master.
Step 8
Apply the hot fix to Fault Monitor server.
Step 9
Apply the hot fix to Client Manager.
Step 10
Reenable the Fault Monitor.
Step 11
If Fault Monitor does not see the Primary Master as active, then set > system queue = 0, and:
a.
Stop the Primary Master.
b.
Start up Primary Master.
c.
Start up Backup Master.
d.
Start up the Client Manager.
