Additional Considerations When Planning TV Purchases 

•  If using DVI for video and audio is required, you need separate audio wiring from 

the DMP to the TV’s built-in speakers or to an external sound system. 

•  If the TV is in a luxury suite or conference room and you want to allow customers 

to plug their PCs into the TV to make presentations, you need a PC input on the 
TV. 

•  If the TV is in an area where you want to allow customers to connect external 

devices like a gaming system to the TV, purchase a TV that has easily 
accessible front video and audio jacks. 

•  If advertisement will be displayed along with video, for best visibility, purchase 

TVs with at least a 32-inch diagonal display size. 

•  Special requirements apply if the TV is being used as part of a video wall. 

Depending on the type of video wall, these include tile matrix capabilities,  
daisy-chained video ports and thin bezel. See the

•  Assuming the TV will be mounted on a wall, purchase TVs that are  

VESA-mounting compliant. 

•  Centralized control is very important when managing hundreds or thousands of 

TVs. Being able to remotely control TVs from StadiumVision Director via RS-232 
is critical for operational efficiency. Therefore the TVs used should have RS-232 
codes for operations like power on, power off, and volume settings. 

•  Some TV displays provide the ability to lock-out control of the physical,   

TV-setting buttons and IR remote. This helps avoid unintended changes by suite 
guests or non-qualified personnel. 

•  If the TV will be mounted outdoors, displays that are built to withstand the 

elements should be purchased. TVs with weatherproof compartments for the 
DMP is also a way to avoid the cost of an additional enclosure.
