Virtual Voice Application Support
Operations Manager supports Unified Communications Manager 8.0 and Unity Connection 8.0 running
on a virtualized host, with the following caveats:
Operations Manager treats the virtualized host as a media server. It does not group virtual hosts
separately or have separate PTM settings.
Environment parameters such as temperature sensor, fan, and power supply are not monitored. As a
result, related traps and events are not applicable.
These virtual voice applications are treated as native voice applications. For example, Service Level
View displays generic voice application icons and Alerts and Events Details, use the media server
device type.
Detailed Device View displays the default values for platform attributes. It does not display
platform-specific parameters such as environment and system.
For auto-discovery, device import, or manual discovery, Operations Manager will provide the IP
address of the virtual host.
Unity Connection 8.0 running on a virtualized host does not monitor system processor or CPU usage
as System Parameters. As a result, any related traps and events are not applicable.
Devices Supported by Cisco Unified Operations Manager 8.0
Note
Node-to-node tests and synthetic tests are supported on specific devices. The devices that can run these
tests are specified in the applicable tables.
When you install Cisco Unified Operations Manager 8.0, you also install device support for all of the
devices listed in this document.
Note the following when you view the device support tables:
The devices listed in this document may be categorized differently in the Operations Manager
display.
This list contains the Cisco model names of all devices that are supported by Operations Manager.
Variants to the generic device (device model names that have unique extensions) are not supported
unless they are specifically listed. The device support tables provide SysObjectIDs to help you
verify which devices are supported.
Operations Manager does not support switch clusters. A switch cluster is a group of switches that
comprises a master switch and slave switches. This relationship allows NMSs to query the master
switch for information about the slave switches.
Operations Manager Service Level View does not support multiple Cisco Unified System Contact
Center Enterprise (SCCE) deployments.
