The manual is divided into the following chapters.
Description
Chapter
Describes aspects of the system that are of interest to the administrator.
Describes the main features of the Unified ICM fault tolerant architecture,
with special emphasis on how fault tolerance affects the administration of
the system.
Introduces the Unified ICM databases and explains how they are used.
Describes the ICMDBA tool, the Database Sizing Estimator applet, and
the Database Retriever dialog, used for various database administration
tasks.
Describes the administration that the system software performs
automatically. This chapter also includes several optional administration
features that you can use.
Discusses the Unified ICM Partitioning feature, which controls what data
individuals are allowed to access within a Unified ICM database.
Note: Partitioning on new installations is no longer supported and is no
longer provided as a checkbox option from the Web Setup windows; that
is, you cannot create new partitioning on a server. Although the partitioning
checkbox has been removed, upgrading to 8.0(1) does not automatically
remove partitioning on an existing system.
