Chapter 4      Creating Custom Templates Based on Existing Templates
Select the Report Category
Select the Report Category
When you find a template that approximates the information and the design you want to appear in your 
custom template, select the report category library for that ‘model’ template as your working library in 
InfoMaker.
 that shows the correspondence between the WebView menu and the template 
library. It is important to work in the correct library. When you save the finished template, it is saved to 
that library and appears under the report category for that library in the WebView interface. 
To select the working library
Step 1
From the InfoMaker toolbar, click Library.
Step 2
Locate the folder for the appropriate report category.
Step 3
Right-click the 
ppb050.pbl
 file in that folder and select Set as working library.
Open a Standard Template to Use as a Model
With the database connect established and the appropriate report category set as your working library, 
the next step is to open the standard template you intend to use as the model for your custom template.
To Open a Template
Step 1
Select File > Open from the InfoMaker menu.
Step 2
From the Open dialog box, highlight the template that you intend to model and click OK
Step 3
Enter retrieval values if you want to see data on the Report Painter, or click Cancel to open the template 
with no data retrieved.
The template opens in the Report Painter.
Save the Standard Template with a New Name
Before you make any changes, save the template with a new name. This keeps the original Cisco 
template intact.
To Save the Standard Template as a Custom Template
Step 1
Select File > Save As from the InfoMaker menu.
Step 2
In the Save Report dialog box:

Change the name of the standard template. See

naming guidelines.
b.
Change the comment to indicate the nature of the customizations.
