Switching From Flat Files to SQL Server Database
If you decide to change from a flat file implementation to a database implementation,
the flat files can be imported into the SQL Server database using the Data Migration
Tool (FCRasDBMigrationTool.exe).

Using the Data Migration Tool
The Data Migration Tool enables you to retain agent state and call data when

There are three prerequisites before you run this tool:
1. In CAD Configuration Setup, configure the Recording and Statistics service to
use a SQL Server database by changing the setting on the Recording and
Statistics Database Configuration step.

2. If your configuration is an HA system, turn on the Recording and Statistics
Replication in the Replication Setup step in CAD Configuration Setup.
3. Stop the Recording and Statistics service. (In an HA system, both the primary
and secondary Recording and Statistics services must be stopped.)
NOTE: MIgrating data can take several hours. Therefore, it is
recommended that you run the Data Migration Tool during contact
center down time.

To import flat file data into a SQL Server database:
1. Ensure that the three prerequisites (see above) are completed.
2. On the server that hosts the Recording and Statistics service (and in an HA
environment, the server on the active node), navigate to the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Cisco\Desktop\bin\
3. Double-click FCRasDBMigrationTool.exe and follow the command prompts to
run the Data Migration Tool.
