•  To select the items that will appear when you press the 

i-Function button on the lens, you can use the 

iFn Setting 

menu on your camera.

•  Available scenes or filter effects in the E mode may vary 

depending on the camera model.

•  If you select Z, the photo resolution will vary according 

to the zoom rate.

Set the focal length for the photo you are composing by pressing 

the zoom button on the lens. (See illustration 

)

•  If you set the Auto Focus (AF) mode on your camera, the focus 

ring operates as a zoom ring. You can also set the focus length 

by rotating the focus ring on the lens. (See illustration 

)

•  When you use the zoom function, the focus may change 

slightly. Adjust the focus again before you capture a photo.

•  You can set the zoom speed for the lens’ Power Zoom button 

to fast, medium, or slow. To set the zoom speed, use the 

Button Speed Settings menu on your camera. At fast speed, 

noise from the lens increases and can be recorded in videos. 

Refer to your camera manual for more details.

•  To use the Lens Button Speed Settings feature properly, you 

must keep the camera’s firmware up-to-date. This feature may 

not be supported by some camera models.

Before putting a filter on the lens, make sure it is compatible.  

Refer to "Specifications" for compatible filter size.

•  A filter is a precise optical product. Keep away from dust, dirt, 

or scratches. Also, do not try to mount two or more filters at 

the same time. Doing so may deteriorate the image quality 

and cause vignetting (a reduction of an image’s brightness 

or saturation at the periphery as the viewing angle of the lens 

is hidden).

•  In case of a thick framed filter, the vignetting can occur with a 

wide-angle lens.

Launch the Power Zoom feature by pressing the zoom button. 

Power Zoom reduces blurring and noise from the lens to optimize 

quality when recording video. When the lens is locked, the lens 

tube slides inside the lens body making it compact enough to 

carry around.

► To attach the lens,

Remove the lens cap, lens mount cover, and body cap.

Align the red mark on the lens with the red mark on the 

camera body. Then, rotate the lens as shown in the illustration 

until it locks into place. (See illustration 

)

►  To remove the lens, press and hold the lens release button, and 

then rotate the lens as shown in the illustration.

If you set the Manual Focus (MF) mode on your camera, adjust the 

focus manually by rotating the focus ring on the lens.

Use the 

MF Assist function on the camera to focus more easily 

when you are manually focusing. Refer to your camera manual 

for more details.

When you press the i-Function button on the lens, you can use 

the E mode or Z or adjust some shooting options. 

In the E mode, you can select scenes or filter effects that 

your camera supports. Z allows you to zoom in on a subject 

with less degradation of photo quality than the Digital zoom. This 

feature is available only when your camera supports it. i-Scene 

mode is available only on some camera models.

Rotate the mode dial to P, A, S, M, or i.

Press [

i-Function] on the lens to select a setting.

► Para colocar la lente,

Retire la tapa de la lente, la tapa de montaje de la lente y la 

cubierta del cuerpo.

Haga coincidir la marca roja de la lente con la marca roja del 

cuerpo de la cámara. Luego, gire la lente como se muestra en 

la ilustración hasta que se ajuste en su sitio.

►  Para retirar la lente, mantenga pulsado el botón de 

desenganche, y luego gire la lente como se muestra en la 

ilustración. (Ver ilustración 

)

Si define el modo de Enfoque manual (MF) en la cámara, ajuste el 

enfoque manualmente girando el anillo de enfoque de la lente.

Use la función 

Asistente MF en la cámara para enfocar más 

fácilmente durante el enfoque manual. Consulte el manual de su 

cámara para conocer más detalles.

Al pulsar el botón i-Function en la lente, podrá usar el modo 

E o Z, o ajustar algunas opciones de disparo. En el 

modo E, podrá seleccionar escenas o efectos de filtro que 

la cámara admita. El modo Z le permite hacer zoom sobre 

un sujeto con una menor degradación de la calidad de la fotografía 

que con el zoom digital. Esta función solo estará disponible si 

la cámara la admite. El modo i-Scene solo está disponible en 

algunos modelos de cámara.

Gire el selector de modos hasta P, A, S, M, o i.

Pulse [

Enfoque y capture la fotografía.

•  Para seleccionar los elementos que aparecerán al pulsar el 

botón i-Function en la lente, puede utilizar el menú 

iFn de la cámara.

•  Las escenas o los efectos de filtro disponibles en el modo 

E pueden variar según el modelo de la cámara.

•  Si selecciona Z, la resolución de las fotos cambiará 

según el nivel de zoom.

Defina la distancia focal de la foto que está componiendo 

pulsando el botón de zoom en la lente. (Ver ilustración 

)

•  Si define el modo Enfoque automático (AF) en la cámara, el 

anillo de enfoque funcionará como un anillo de zoom. También 

podrá definir la distancia focal girando el anillo de enfoque en la 

lente. (Ver ilustración 

)

•  Al usar la función de zoom, el enfoque podría cambiar 

levemente. Vuelva a ajustar el enfoque antes de capturar 

una foto.

•  Podrá definir la velocidad de zoom para el botón de Zoom 

de alto rendimiento de la lente en rápida, media o lenta. Para 

definir la velocidad del zoom, use el menú 

velocidad del botón de la lente en la cámara. Si la velocidad 

es alta, el ruido de la lente aumenta, y podrá quedar grabado 

en los vídeos. Consulte el manual de su cámara para conocer 

más detalles.

•  Para usar la función Configuración de velocidad del botón 

de la lente en forma correcta, deberá mantener el firmware de 

la cámara actualizado. Esta función podría no estar disponible 

en algunos modelos de cámara.

Antes de colocar un filtro en la lente, asegúrese de que sea 

compatible. Consulte “Especificaciones” para ver los tamaños de 

filtro compatibles.

•  Un filtro es un producto óptico preciso. Manténgalo lejos del 

polvo, la suciedad o los arañazos. No intente montar dos o más 

filtros al mismo tiempo. Si lo hace podría deteriorar la calidad 

de la imagen y provocar un efecto de viñeta (la reducción del 

brillo o la saturación de una imagen en la periferia, ocultando el 

ángulo de visión del lente).

•  En el caso de los filtros de marco ancho, el efecto viñeta se 

puede producir con una lente de ángulo amplio.
