The feedback tone settings are used when you use the 
dialing pad, make a screen selection, lock your screen, or 
touch the screen.

1. From the Settings screen, touch Sound.

2. Touch any of the following options to create a check 

mark and activate the feature:

• Dialing keypad tone: Makes a sound when you touch 

a key on the keyboard.

• Touch sounds: Makes a sound when you touch the 

screen.

• Screen lock sound: Makes a sound when your screen 

is locked or unlocked.

• Emergency  Tone: Set a sound option for emergency 

calls. Options are:

–

Off: No tone or vibration plays during emergency 

calls.

–

Alert: A tone plays during emergency calls.

–

Vibrate: A vibration plays during emergency calls.

Access sound settings for select applications on your phone.

1. From the Settings screen, touch Sound.

2. Touch any of the following options to display sound 

settings for the application:

• Call: See “Call” on page 151..

• Messaging: See “Messaging Settings” on page 82..

• Email: See “Using Email” on page 83..

• Calendar: See “Calendar” on page 124..

Set the keyboard sounds.

1. From the Settings screen, touch Sound.

2. Touch the following option to create a check mark and 

activate the feature:

• Sound when tapped: Enables auditory feedback 

when you touch an onscreen key.
