GLOBAL PARAMETERS
The following parameters are glo-
bal parameters and are accessible
at any time in the CTRL menu
regardless of the current operating
mode. If you own a keyboard ver-
sion of the Virus, the parameters
for the keyboard and other manual
control devices will appear at this
point. These are explained in detail
in the chapter “The keyboard ver-
sions of the Virus” on page 189

Midi Dump TX
This feature transfers the sound
data of one Virus to another Virus,
a computer or a hardware
sequencer via MIDI. The dump is
executed via so-called system
exclusive data (SysEx). You can
chose from the following dump
options:

chose from the following dump
options:
TOTAL All data in the RAM of
the Virus, in other words, the SIN-
GLE Banks A and B, the MULTI pro-
grams, the EDIT buffers as well as
the settings for the global parame-
ters.

GLOBAL Here you can transfer
all global data (i.e. all parameters
that are not stored with a Single or
a Multi e.g. Global Channel).

CONTROLLER DUMP This
option lets you send a Single to the
MIDI Out in the form of a control-
ler dump. Here all parameters are
sent in succession as individual
parameter changes. The parame-
ters are sent either as controllers,
polypressure or SysEx messages,
depending on the setting in CTRL:
MIDI CONTROL LoPage / HiPage.
This function sends the SINGLE
program that you are currently
processing (the contents of the
Edit buffer).
The Controller Dump is not an
alternative to a normal Single
Dump since it takes so much
longer to transmit data. However,
it does allow you to send a com-
plete Single sound to a parameter-
based editor (Logic Environment,
Cubase Mixer) that is compatible
with the Virus for the purpose of
updating the editor.
