8.1
 The 
AquaFix™ 406 GPS P-EPIRB meets the requirements of Federal Communications Commission 
(FCC) Part 95 Subpart K, European R&TTE Directive 
 
8.2 Characteristics 
 
The  AquaFix™ 406 GPS P-EPIRB is a buoyant, battery operated Personal Emergency Position 
Indicating Radio Beacon.  The P-EPIRB case, with its   antenna, is waterproof.  The semiconductor 
circuits are mounted within the case assembly which also contains the battery power supply.  A 
keypad with “self test,” “GPS I or I/O” and “Off” buttons are installed on the case, along with an 
internal beeper and two LEDs.  The AquaFix™ 406 GPS models accept external GPS data via an 
I/R interface cable that is included with your P-EPIRB.  The AquaFix™ 406 GPS I/O              (P/N 
2797.4) also contains an Onboard GPS engine that will acquire your LAT/LON if an external GPS 
receiver is not present.
