Using pop-up sliders
A number of palettes and dialog boxes contain
settings that use pop-up sliders (for example, the
Opacity option in the Layers palette). If there is a
triangle ( ) next to the text box, you can activate
the pop-up slider by clicking the triangle.
To use a pop-up slider:
Do one of the following:
Position the pointer over the triangle next to the
setting, hold down the mouse, and drag the slider
or angle radius to the desired value.
Click the triangle next to the setting to open the
pop-up slider box, and drag the slider or angle
radius to the desired value. Click outside the slider
box or press Enter or Return to close the slider box.
To cancel changes, press the Escape key (Esc).
To increase or decrease values in 10% incre-
ments when the pop-up slider box is open, hold
down Shift and press the Up Arrow or Down Arrow.
Viewing images
The hand tool, the zoom tools, the Zoom
commands, and the Navigator palette let you view
different areas of an image at different magnifica-
tions. You can open additional windows to display
several views at once (such as different magnifica-
tions) of an image.
Using the document window
The document window is where your image
appears. You can open multiple windows to
display different views of the same file. A list of
open windows appears in the Window menu.
Available memory may limit the number of
windows per image.
To open multiple views of the same image:
Choose View > New View. Depending on the
position of the first window, you may have to move
the second window to view both simultaneously.
To arrange multiple windows (Windows only):
Do one of the following:
Choose Window > Cascade to display windows
stacked and cascading from the upper left to the
lower right of the screen.
Choose Window > Tile to display windows edge
to edge.
Choose Window > Arrange Icons to align
minimized images along the bottom of the
work area.
