Mounting the Apogee CD-ROM
Introduction
The Apogee CD-ROM contains all Apogee products (at print time: Apogee-C, Apogee-C++,
Apogee-FORTRAN 77, Apogee-Fortran 90, SP/MP KAP-C, SP/MP KAP-FORTRAN) as well
as instructions for installing any/all of these products (the
read.me
 file mentioned above),
software required to install and configure the products,  on-line documentation in PostScript
form for all of these products, and a version of the GNU debugger which has been modified to
accept C, C++ and FORTRAN 77 input.  In addition, various third party development tools are
included and may be purchased at an additional cost.
Procedure for Use
The normal procedure for using this CD-ROM is as follows:
1) Read the License Agreement.
2) If you agree to the terms of the License Agreement, install the software on your
computer as described below.
3) Contact your software supplier for a license file which will enable the software to run.
You may obtain either a free time-limited evaluation license, or a purchased
permanent license.
4) Activate the software by running the configuration process.  You will learn about this
during installation.
The Installation Process
As mentioned above, the installation process for Apogee’s products is done by a script that
copies the products from the CD-ROM to a directory of your choice.  This script, and a
read.me
file describing the installation process in detail, are on the CD-ROM .  You need to
mount the CD-ROM in order to get access to these files and to the product files.
There may be from one to five machines (described above) involved in the installation and use
of Apogee products.  You can use one machine for all functions, or split the functions among
different machines as you choose.
The installation process is normally done when logged onto the installation-machine, so these
mounting instructions describe the process of making the CD-ROM visible to the installation-
machine.  The installation-machine does not need to be a SPARC machine, but can be any
computer capable of serving files to the license-server and host-machines (which must each be
SPARC machines).
The Apogee CD-ROM conforms to the ISO-9660 standard (i.e. the "High Sierra" format), so it
may be mounted on any machine with the ability to read this kind of CD-ROM and make its
contents visible to the installation machine.
You need to follow the procedures that apply to the location of your CD drive:
