Pro Logic and Dolby Pro Logic II MOVIE/MUSIC 
are canceled and the multi channel source is output 
directly.
• When the bilingual broadcast sound is input, Dolby 
Pro Logic and Dolby Pro Logic II MOVIE/MUSIC 
are not effective.
Enjoying virtual surround 
speakers
VIRTUAL MULTI DIMENSION
Creates an array of virtual surround speaker 
positions higher than the listener from a single 
set of actual surround speakers.
This mode creates 5 pairs of virtual speakers 
surrounding the listener at approximately a 30
°  
angle of elevation. The effect differs according 
to the [BEHIND] or [SIDE] setting of the 
surround speakers (page 77).
Outputting 2 channel sources 
from the surround speakers
MULTI ST.
This mode outputs 2 channel sources from the 
front speakers and surround speakers 
simultaneously. The sound that is output from 
the surround speakers is same as the sound that 
is output from the front speakers.
• When you select “MULTI ST.,” “LINK” lights up in 
the front panel display.
Selecting a sound field for 
music
ROCK, POP, JAZZ, CLASSIC
The each mode provided sound to suit the 
source.
Enjoying the sound at low 
volume
NIGHT
You can enjoy sound effects or dialogue, as you 
would in a movie theater, even at low volume. It 
is useful for watching movies at night. 
In this mode, the sound is output from the front 
speakers only. When a 2 channel source is 
played, this function is not effective.
Enjoying the surround sound 
by headphones
HEADPHONE VIRTUAL
This mode outputs the sound as surround from 
headphone L/R.
This mode is effective only when a multi 
channel source is played.
HEADPHONE 2CHANNEL STEREO
This mode outputs the sound from headphone L/
R. Standard 2 channel (stereo) sources 
completely bypass the sound field processing. 
Multi channel surround formats are downmixed 
to two channels.
