高温のご注意
点灯中と消灯直後の前面部（ガラスやランプ）やその周辺は、非常に高い温度になりますので、十

分ご注意ください。

•

連続でご使用のとき、電池が熱くなることがありますが、故障ではありません。電池を取り出す際に
は充分お気をつけください。電源を切ってからしばらくしてから取り出すか、布などの上に取り出し
て、直接手を触れないようにしてください。

•

周囲温度が高いところで、連続して点灯すると早めに消灯することがあります。
電池温度が高くなったことにより安全装置が作動したためです。
電池が冷えたことを確認してから新しい電池に交換するか、しばらく使用を止めて電池温度を下げて
からお使いください。

•

放熱孔をふさがないでください。内部の温度が上がり、火災や事故、故障の原因となります。

•

使用しないときは必ず

スイッチを切ってください。

フロントカバーをはずしたままでランプを点灯しないでください。

•

点灯中にビデオライトにショックを与えないでください。ランプが切れたり寿命が短くなったりする
ことがあります。

熱いガラスに水がかかると破損することがあり危険です。

•

点灯中はランプを直接見ないようにしてください。強力な光は目を傷めるおそれがあります。

•

落下防止のため、ビデオカメラにとりつけたまま本機を持って持ち運ばないでください。

•

アルコールやベンジンなどの揮発性・引火性の高い薬品を近づけたり、ビデオライトの近くに置かな
いでください。発火、発煙のおそれがあります。

•

内部に液体をこぼしたり、燃えやすいものや金属類を落とさないでください。そのまま使用すると、
火災や事故、故障の原因となります。

•

過放電防止機能や保護回路により、ある一定の電圧までさがるとビデオライトが突然消えることがあ
りますが、故障ではありません。電源を切り、電池を再充電するか、別の充分に充電された電池に取
りかえてください。

•

使用中、保管中にかかわらず次のような場所には置かないでください。故障や変形の原因となりま
す。

炎天下や夏場の窓を閉めきった自動車内のように異常に高温になる場所

直射日光の当たる場所、熱器具の近く

電池について
•

新しい電池と使用した電池、充電した電池と放電した電池、使用頻度の極端に違う電池、種類の違う
電池を混ぜて使用しないでください。

•

寒いところや周囲が高温の場合、電池を使用できる時間が短くなるため連続照射時間が短くなりま
す。電池の機能が低下するためです。より長い時間ご使用いただくために、寒いところ（

℃以下）

で使用するときは次のことをおすすめします。

電池をポケットなどに入れてあたたかくしておき、撮影の直前にビデオライトに取り付ける。カイ
ロをお使いになる場合は、直接電池に触れないようにご注意ください。

充電は室温（

℃）でおこなう。

•

電池の容量を使い切らないうちに継ぎ足し充電を繰り返しおこなうと、電池の容量を充分に利用でき
なくなることがあります。これを「メモリー効果」と呼んでいます。「メモリー効果」が起きてしまっ
たら、充電してから電池を使い切ることを数回繰り返すと解消されます。

「メモリー効果」の発生を防ぐために、リフレッシュ機能付き充電器で電池を充電することをおすす

めします。

•

本機は大電流で動作するため電池の寿命が低下しますが、異常ではありません。

使い終わったら

スイッチを必ず「

」にしてください。

充分に冷めていることを確認してから収納してください。

使用しないときやケースなどに収納するときには、必ず本機から電池を取りはずしてください。

本使用した正しい使いかたでも電池の残量が残り少なく

なったときにEランプが赤色で点滅をする場合があります。これは電池個々のばらつきや使用状況に
よるものです。異常に熱い電池がある場合は、電池が冷えたことを確認してから新しい電池に交換して
ください。異常に熱い電池がない場合は問題ありません。そのまま電池を充電してご使用ください。

電池の温度が何らかの理由で熱くなりすぎたとき、ライトが消えてから、

赤色で早い点滅をします。電池が熱くなっていますので、取り出すときは布などの上に取り出すなど、
直接手を触れないように充分にご注意ください。電池が冷えたことを確認してから取り出してくださ
い。
使用中の電池を全て取りはずして、下記の手順に従って確認して下さい。
電池の温度があたたかくなってくると、オレンジ色で点灯します。異常ではありませんが、電池を取り
出すときはご注意ください。

ください。点灯中に切れた場合はランプ本体が冷えてから交換してください。

本体が冷えたことを確認後、コインなどを使って、フロントカバーをはずす。

ランプが点灯中は、フロントカバーは高温になっています。カバーが冷えてから開けてください。

新しいランプは直接手で触れずに、乾いた布などでくるんで取り付けてください。ランプの表面に指
紋や汚れが付いたときは、きれいに拭きとってください。ランプの寿命が短くなる原因になります。

時々、柔らかい布でから拭きしてください。汚れがひどいときは、中性洗剤溶液を少しふくませた布で
拭いてから、もう一度から拭きしてください。シンナー、ベンジン、アルコールなどは表面の仕上げを
いためますので使わないでください。

きれいな色でくっきりした画像を撮るには、明るい照明が必要です。

自然な光と影があることで立体感がでます。

室内照明が蛍光灯の場合、画像にちらつきがでることがあります。ビデオライトを併用するとちらつ
きが消え、比較的きれいな画像になります。

逆光の場合、ビデオライトを併用すると、被写体の大切なポイント（人物の顔など）が暗くなりませ
ん。屋外撮影では、ビデオカメラを太陽に向けないようにします。

The front of the video light becomes very hot when it is in use and for a while after it is
turned off.
Do not touch the cover, light bulb, etc. when they are hot.

• Although the batteries may get hot during continuous use, this is not a malfunction. Be

careful when removing the batteries. Wait for a while after switching off the video light
before removing the batteries, or use a cloth etc. to avoid touching them directly.

• The battery video light may go out more quickly when used continuously at a high ambient

temperature. This is due to the activation of a safety device when the battery temperature gets
too high. Replace the batteries with new ones after making sure they have cooled down first,
or wait for the batteries’ temperature to fall before using the battery video light again.

• Do not block the ventilation grills.
• Do not leave the video light on when not in use.
• Be sure to set the POWER switch to OFF before replacing the batteries.
• Do not turn on the video light without the cover in place.
• Do not subject the video light to extreme shock. It may cause the light bulb to burn out or

shorten the life of the bulb.

• Do not spill water on the front glass of the video light when it is hot.
• Do not look at the light bulb while it is on.
• Do not pick up the camcorder by this unit.
• Do not place the light near combustible or volatile solvents such as alcohol or benzine.
• Do not drop any liquid or solid objects into the video light.
• If the voltage drops to a certain extent due to operation of the function to prevent extreme

discharge of battery capacity, the light may go out. This is normal.
In this case, turn off the power, and recharge the batteries or use another charged batteries.

• During use or storage, do not place the batteries in the following locations. Doing so may

cause the batteries to malfunction or deform:
– Hot weather or abnormally hot locations such as inside a car with closed windows
– Direct sunlight or near heating apparatus
– Locations subject to intense vibrations

• Do not use combinations of new and used batteries; recharged and uncharged batteries;

batteries with very different frequency of use; batteries of different types.

• The battery life is shorter when used at low or high ambient temperatures, so the lighting

time is also reduced. The battery capacity deteriorates. When using the batteries at the
temperature of 10 °C/50°F or less, the following steps are recommended for longer battery
life:
– To warm the battery, put it in your pocket. (Do not put the battery together with a pocket

heat pad.)

Just before recording, insert the battery pack into the video light.
– Charge the battery at room temperature (from 10 °C/50 °F to 30 °C/86 °F).

• If you repeatedly recharge the batteries before they are fully discharged, their length of use

per charge may be reduced. This is called the “memory effect.” The memory effect can be
corrected by fully recharging and discharging the batteries a number of times.
To prevent the memory effect from occurring, it is recommended that you recharge the
batteries using a charger with a refresh function.

• Because the video light runs on a large current, the life of the rechargeable batteries is

reduced. This is not a malfunction.

• Be sure to turn off the power.
• Make sure that the light has cooled down before putting it in its case.

Be sure to remove the batteries when the video light is not in use or before you put it into a
case.

Clean the video light with a soft dry cloth. If you clean it with a soft cloth lightly moistened
with a mild detergent solution, wipe it with a soft dry cloth after cleaning. Do not use a damp
cloth or any type of solvent, such as alcohol or benzine, which might damage the finish.

Arrange proper lighting to get a clear and beautiful color picture.
• A realistic picture is composed of natural light and shade.
• Fluorescent lights may produce flickering in pictures. Using the video light will help you

produce good pictures without color

blurs and flickering.

When the subject is lit from behind (backlighting) by other light sources, use the video light to
illuminate the front part of the subject you want to shoot.Be sure not to directly shoot the sun
with your video camera.

Installing the batteries (See illustration A)

Use four Sony AA Ni-MH rechargeable batteries*. The video light may not operate properly if
other batteries are used.
* Do not use batteries such as AA alkali dry batteries, AA Ni-Mn dry batteries or AA Mn
dry batteries.
1 Open the battery cover.
2 Insert the four batteries in the directions marked inside the battery case.
3 Close the battery cover.

• Be sure to use four batteries of the same type and the same frequency of use.
• Be sure to confirm the 3 # poles of the batteries. Inserting the batteries with the poles in the

wrong direction may cause leakage or ruptures.

• Do not use the exhausted AA Ni-MH batteries and the charged AA Ni-MH batteries together.
• Do not use unnecessary force to remove the battery cover.

Using the video light (See illustration B)

Be sure to set the POWER switch to OFF before attaching the batteries.

1 Turn the light attachment knob anticlockwise to loosen. (B-1)
2 Attach the video light to the accessory shoe then tighten the light attachment

knob. (B-2)
The video light can be attached either from front or back of the accessory shoe.

3 While pressing the small green button on the POWER switch, set it to ON. (B-3)

The video light will turn on.

Remove the batteries when the video light is not in use for a long time.

Check that the video light has cooled down sufficiently after turning off the power, fully
loosening the light attachment knob and removing the video light from the accessory shoe.

When using the accessory shoe adaptor (B-4)

To attach the video light to a video camera that does not have an active interface shoe, use
the supplied accessory shoe adapter.
Even when using the active interface shoe with a microphone, etc., use the accessory shoe
adapter to attach the video light to the video camera.
1 Attach the accessory shoe adaptor to the tripod receptacle of the video

camera.
Turn the knob of the accessory shoe adaptor in the direction of the arrow to tighten
firmly.

Make sure that the lighting section faces to the front and attach it to the screw of the
accessory shoe adaptor.

The video light will turn on.

Remove the batteries when the video light is not in use for a long time.

Lamp Indicators (B-5)

1 When the battery capacity is low (Remaining battery indicator function)
About five minutes before the batteries run out, the E lamp turns orange and blinks slowly.
The display start time varies depending on the type and frequency of use of the batteries and
the ambient temperature. The display start time gives you a rough idea of battery capacity.
Replacing the batteries quickly is recommended.
2 When the batteries run out (Remaining battery indicator function)
The video light goes out and the E lamp turns orange and blinks rapidly for about one minute.
Recharge all four batteries or replace them all with fully recharged batteries.
If the E lamp remains orange and continues to blink even after the batteries are recharged, the
video light may be malfunctioning. Stop using the video light immediately, switch it off and
remove the batteries before consulting your Sony dealer or local authorized Sony service
facility.
3 When something goes wrong with the batteries
• E Lamp
If there is anything wrong with the battery voltage, the video light goes out and the E lamp
turns red and blinks rapidly for about one minute.
Remove all of the batteries being used, and then check them according to the following steps.

Even when the four recommended batteries (Sony nickel hydride rechargeable batteries) are
correctly used, the E lamp may blink red when the battery life is low. This is due to the
conditions of use or slight variations among individual batteries. If any of the batteries become
abnormally hot, replace them all with new ones after making sure they have cooled down first.
If none of the batteries is abnormally hot, there is no problem. Just recharge the batteries and
use them again.

• BATTERY TEMP Lamp
If the temperature of the batteries becomes too high for any reason, the video light goes out and
the red BATTERY TEMP lamp blinks rapidly. The batteries become hot, so be careful not to
touch them directly. When removing them, handle them through a cloth or other such material.
Make sure the batteries have cooled down first.
Remove all of the batteries being used, and then check them according to the following steps.
If the temperature of the batteries gets warm, the orange BATTERY TEMP lamp blinks. This is
not a malfunction. Be careful when removing the batteries.

After turning orange or red and blinking or remaining on, the BATTERY TEMP lamp may not
change even when the batteries are replaced. This is not a malfunction. Turn off the power for a
while before using the video light.

Replacing the lamp (See illustration C)

Use the Sony halogen lamp (151988111). Consult your Sony dealer or local authorized Sony
service facility for replacement of halogen lamp.
Order the following parts number when purchasing the halogen lamp : 1-519-881-11.
The lamp is hot when it has just burned out. Wait until the lamp cools down before removing it.
1 Remove the front cover by inserting something like a coin after making sure that

Pull the old lamp to replace.

Insert the new lamp into the socket straightly.
* Do not tilt the lamp.

Insert the pawls on the front cover and attach it.

• The lamp is hot when it has just burned out. Make sure that the lamp is cool enough to

handle.

• Before opening the cover set the POWER switch to OFF and remove the batteries.
• The surface of the cover becomes hot when in use. Be sure that the cover is cool enough to

handle before removing.

• Do not touch the reflector of a new lamp with bare hands. Wrap it with a soft dry cloth when

replacing. Clean off fingerprints or dirt if necessary.

Turn off the power immediately. The video light may be malfunctioning. Please contact your 
Sony dealer or local authorized Sony service facility.

あります。

もし電池の液が漏れたときは、電池ケース内の漏れた液をよくふきとってから、新しい電池を入れてく
ださい。万一、液が身体や衣服についたときは、水でよく洗い流してください。

ニッケル水素電池は、リサイクルできます。不要に
なったニッケル水素電池は、金属部にセロハンテープ
などの絶縁物を貼って電池リサイクル協力店へお持ち
ください。

アクセサリーシューアダプターを使う場合（B

アクティブインターフェースシューを搭載していないビデオカメラへは、付属のアクセサリー
シューアダプターを使用して取り付けてください。
アクティブインターフェースシューをマイクなどでご使用になる場合も、アクセサリーシューアダ
プターを使用して本機をビデオカメラに取り付けてください。

ビデオカメラの三脚ネジ穴にアクセサリーシューアダプターを取り付ける。
矢印の方向に回して、しっかり締めます。

ビデオライトを取り付ける。
発光部を前にして、アクセサリーシューアダプターの三脚ネジに取り付けます。
ライト固定つまみを矢印の方向に回して締める。

緑色のボタンを押しながらスイッチをスライドさせ、
