To change the writing speed from the default to a lower speed, proceed as follows:

Go to My Computer from the Start menu.

Right-click the disc drive icon.

Select Properties.

Select the Settings tab.

Change the Current Write Speed field to 4x or 2x (for example).

Click OK.
